Making money out of 40+ mining:

mining is an easy skill to train and a very profitable skill when used properly.

okay, do not bother mining any ore for profit until you can 1-hit-mine iron *40 crafting is a great advantage to make good money since you can enter the crafters guild which contains many gold rocks*, or you can mine rune ess, at level 40 you’ll be able to mine with a rune pickaxe, here’s where the money comes:

Go to falador east bank and bank all your items, set pickaxe as weapon *if your combat level is 64 or under it is advisable to bring armor* now go to the west part of the minimap, and again west part of minimap, you’ll find some iron rocks, now stick here until you mine 6,758 iron ores.

Profits:

6,758 x 100= 675k!
or
6758 x 120 = 810k!

now you’re 60 mining from here you can go to the miners guild and mine coal like crazy, or stick with fast-good iron, if you have over 60 smithing and want to train smithing mine 10,661 mith and 42,644 coal at the mining guild, which would take you an eternity just for trying to get some smith levels :\, so what i recommend is stick with iron from level 40 to 85! there comes the real profit, 10k+ per ore , you could also mine some coal instead of iron for super profit.

good luck getting that 85 mining, and those millions you always wanted.

Actually, being a kind of mining veteran myself, I can assure you that mining just stops being fun after level 60 or even a little before. When i first hit level 60, I went into the mining guild and the first few weeks I just kept mining coal, until I asked myself: What am I doing here? (That was before I became member) You should ask yourself exactly that question. I also have 54 smithing, and after level 50, it gets boring, because of al the work involved.

Also, migueltoux, you need 41 mining to be able to use a rune pickaxe.

And don’t try to make money with mining rune essence unless you are a member, Jagex blew up the rune essence economy when they split the rune essence into two kinds.

I agree with ihavebeermon, cheating makes the game less fun and spoils it.

Not to mention, these autominers might have viruses, spywares or adwares, keyloggers when you download it to your computer.

yea one of my friends tried a auto talked and he downloaded it… after he downloaded the thing he went on his account the thing worked fine but his computer was so slow because all the viruses he downloaded with it he couldn’t play for more than a minute without loosing connection. my moms the boss of a computer company and he got 1\2 off his computer being fixed which was 500 dollars with 1\2 off their were 14 humounges viruses.

yeah i also agree…..(we all agree) if every one used autominers and stuff than everyone would be leval 99!
and that just takes the fun out of it!……….if new players start getting into that stuff than (they may think its “cool”) but really they’re just making a serious minstake. I mean whats the point of hardly starting the game and me leval 99 on all skills?
sometimes traning it fun and still if it does get boring in the end you will feel much better about yourself because all that hard work finally paied of!!

i agree it is pointless to play and go around saying “i am better than zezima (who i dont care about)!!!” the point in playing is to actually level up on your own, not with some ****** auto(insert word here) to cheat runescape with. yes i did use it when i didnt know better, but i have learned my lesson, unlike some “players” or whatever you want to call them.

I was really looking forward to this update, so maybe I was just expecting to much of it , but I’ll make an account of it

I went down into the stronghold, after I got the following from my bank:

Dragon Scimitar
Rune Platebody
A team cape
Red Gloves/Boots
Amulet of Glory
Rune Kite Shield
Ring of wealth
4 Prayer Potions (4)
20 swordfishes
Full prayer, level 43
Combat level 77

As you can see, I was expecting some heavy combat, with over level 120 monsters… How wrong was I…

The first level I did the normal way, easy enough, the monsties didn’t attack me…

The second level I did the normal way too, again to easy, nobody attacked me or anything…

The third level I tried to go through the portal for fun, and I could still go through and ‘cheat’ the level…

The fourth level I did normally again, and I thought that it was too easy, the monsters were not so hard and I did not get hit once…

About the questions; The questions were usefull, but repetetive. And furthermore, if you answered a question wrongly, then you did not get punished, or even set back to the beginning of the level! You just get another question!

At the end I had not lost a stat (including health and prayer) or used food…

The new emotes are kind of cool and the new boots rock!

I’m sure the Freeplayers wil enjoy this update, but I’ve been on the forums, and while most low level people tend to say the update’s great, most high level people will think it’s to boring…

Also about the skull scepter; I’m sure that it’s extremely usefull for Freeplayer to go to edgeville quickly or something, but if you’re a member you have all sorts of different transportation and the skull scepter only has 5 charges…

It’s an OK update, but way to easy…

Stronghold of security:

suggestions:
lvls 3-45 - not recommended to bring your best armour and weapon (just go naked) if u plan on going to the forth lvl
lvls 46-59 - Bring armour and some food, preferably lobsters/swordies
lvls 60+ - Bring armour and less food, but keep your eye out for those lvl 80 monsters down at lvl 4, then u should be fine

strategy:
the point is just to get your fancy boots, just go to the middle of each lvl through each door where there is alot of players and an area with no monsters, and in the middle of that room there will be a chest, first chest awards you with money, same with second at second lvl, then keep going to the ‘room’ in the middle of each lvl, you can choose your boots at the last lvl, lvl 4.

With my lvl 58 account, i wore full sara, blue mask, what i usually wear to show off and wc with and went down there, not much of a problem, but bring food, i brought 4 swordies, ate 1 only.

The Sceptre:
there are 4 pieces to combine the sceptre, each piece is found at each lvl, and are obtained by killing the highest lvl monster there at that lvl, you should usually get the piece from that lvl on your 2nd-6th kill. Easy enough, but for lower lvl players, bring plenty of food being prepared to kill lvl 80s and above.

Also, in the update it said that it would be a dungeon for levels 3-126. Believe me, when I say that it is not challenging for levels 60+

lol i am 64 and just skipped the first three levels and died fighting a ankun or whatever it is called on my second fight with full d hide lol

i did the thing pretty fast. i wanted to get thoes cool boots!! So i just ran i didn’t even bother to bring my combat stuff……..lol in no time i got through it. its really easy but its really good for the new players to train on.

the boots from the stronghold of security dont really do much… i think they just increase ur strenght def. by like 2 or something like that…

I would like to add to stan’s guide.

To get the scepture you need to get the :

Right Skull- Minotaurs (First Floor)
Bottom part of stick- Crawling Flesh (Second Floor)
Top part of stick- Catablepons (Third Floor)
Left skull- Ankous (Fourth Floor)

It does not matter what levels each “creature” is, as long as you kill them, you will soon find the parts of the scepture.

After you got all your scepture parts, you should use them with each other to make a complete scepture.

Skull Sceptres are staves containing the power of a teleport spell that will return you to the Barbarian Village 5 times.

Advices:

I would recommend you to bring a lot of food (lobsters or sword fish) and a few of strength potion for the Catablepons as they have a spell that will weaken your strength very quickly.

If you are planning to fight creatures to obtain the sceptures, i would suggest you to bring a ton of food just in case.

Some more guide ideas:

-New player guide; your first day in RuneScape
Expands a little upon the tutorial and gives new players a few tips on how to make money.

-A good terminology guide.

-From F2P to P2P.
States which stats are nice to reach before getting members, some things to do first (quests, equipment, etc…), and some basic “getting around” guides, where there’s information about new areas and ways to get around (such as flying carpets:)).

Also I think we should state all the updates made (quoted directly from runescape.com) and start to make a quest database.

I know of a great way for mining mithril. very fast compared to the original method. its some ways from a bank, but it is worth it for 13k per load. there is ussually no one there also.my mining lvls 66 so i have been doing this for sometime.

i hav just got badly scammed i tryed to buy a 58 lvl account (so it seems)so i gave keyley140 (the player who scamed me) all my money and she said “o it has 15mill in bank and dragon helm” (so i asked her if it was a member and she said no i new that was a lie but i bourt it any way

Step 1.just pick 5k flax sell for 800k, then buy 8 thousand flax and sell for 1mill, keep doing that and u will end up with over 5mill. Step 2.You need a lvl 44 runecrafting ,you make 1 thousand nature runes and that is 300k, keep the money in bank and then do 2 thousand which is 600k and that = 900k then keep doing it and soon u have 3 mill and you can buy what ever you would like.Step 3.Any member/none-member you go to a runescape wizred shop and you buy runes, at the shop you buy the runes cheap, then go to the bank and sell for higher amount of what you boughgt from the rune shop, keep doing that and you put all the money together and you can end up having over 5 mill in cash, you can buy anything in runescape if you have the amount of what it’s worth. If you use Step 2 make sure you have a level 44 runecrafting if you don’t have that level you might be able to make the runes at your level but they will sell for a lower price.
