Runescape Treasure Trail Help

Players who love surprise parties, mystery gifts, or unexpected revelations will love the idea of the RuneScape treasure trails because they never know what will turn up.  Treasure trail adventures will surprise even the most experienced RuneScape player and will result in hours of fun.

What is a treasure trail?  It’s a quest, of sorts.  Treasure trails begin when a player receives a clue scroll by killing a specific type of monster.  A few other ways of getting a clue scroll, such as by thievery, are also possible, and Shade chests sometimes contain clue scroll.  The specific locations of these monsters can be found by reading one of the many treasure trail guides found on RuneScape websites.  These guides give specific information about starting a treasure trail, but none are able to specifically say when players will received their treasure or even what that treasure will be, although treasure trails are nearly always worth the effort.  Players very rarely receive treasure that is worthless or unwanted.

Clue scrolls and treasure trails are sorted into three categories, with the third containing the best types of treasure.  The third types of trails are also usually the longest, with the rewards being the greatest and the monsters the hardest.  Treasures found on treasure trails are, for the most part, usable by paying members only and cannot be traded to non-paying members.

There are several types of clue scrolls.  The most common one gives players a list of coordinates.  Using a sextant, watch, compass, and other equipment, players can reason out the location and find the treasure.  Other clue scrolls are much simpler, showing players a crude map for them to follow.  Some clue scrolls also tell players to speak to a specific NPC.

Other types of clue scrolls are a little more challenging.  Some offer math problems that players must solve.  Some are anagrams where players have to rearrange the letters to spell the location of the treasure or the name of a character.  Still others contain sliding puzzle pieces that players have to arrange into a picture.  Then, of course, there are the traditional riddle clues that players have to puzzle out before finding their treasure.  Treasure trail clues often lead to another clue, so players should be ready to solve any of the different clue scrolls to advance along the trail.

Treasure trails are one of the most fun and rewarding adventures in the game.  Because they can begin at any time, end any time, and result in any number of different rewards, they truly add an element of randomness to RuneScape.  Players who enjoy this type of surprise will love treasure trails, and even players who generally don’t like puzzles will find themselves drawn in by the amazing rewards.
