| __ ADVANCED CLAN WARS __ by dominator194 Table of Contents * 1.0 - Introduction * 2.0 – Basic knowledge * 3.0 - Equipment * 4.0 – Evasive techniques * 5.0 – Offensive techniques * 6.0 - Staying organized * 7.0 - Conclusion 1.0 -Introduction- My goal is to make you pro at clan wars by showing you a few strategies, preparing you , and making sure you turn out to be a leader. If you don't already do clan wars you can find it in the varrok wilderness at around level 20. Near the end, I will introduce to you some new advanced never before seen technique's. I will put them in 3 categories:Offensive,evasive,counter. First , however ; one should know the basic knowledge , common strategies and tanking. So lets get started . 2.0 -Basic knowledge- Before we get started on the really advanced stuff there are a few attack types you should know: __________________________________________________ _______ Ha = hug attack - you hug a wall and attack at the same time da= dash attack - attack after running a certain distance or same time wa= walk attack - attack after walking a distance sa= standing attack - attack while still __________________________________________________ _______ TANKING - based on evasion, a player with high defense will stall for the longest they can or seperate people. HUGGING- using objects that cannot be passed to prevent attack or reach [p]The player was originally where the red line started , he will go around this block. The zombie can only go one way left or right , when tanking 10 people , this is very effective , because it reduces your chances of being piled , and it works as a stall. This is the concept of tanking.[/p] [p]The player in guthix is hugging this zombie , as you can see the zombie will be trapped behind the tombstone and the player in guthix will be in front. This is hugging.[/p]Two common strategies that clan leaders often use are the death dot and blitzkrieg.The blitzkrieg requires the leader to lead most of the clan around hunting for loners and piling them , after the pile is done clan members will follow again , this is repeated until there are too many people around to stay organized, usually the blitzkrieg will result in success 80 percent of the time if done correctly . The death dot(DD) is a more common strategy carried out by large clans , it requires way less effort than the blitzkrieg but may leave the clan open to piles. Before we move on to the technique's please understand that clan war's is not only based on offense it is highly based on evasion and defensive techniques . To be successful you need to not only pile , you need to avoid being piled. In more advanced wars players will do their best to eliminate their chances of being piled or even being attacked by more than 2 people at once. DO NOT GET PILED. This is the biggest mistake you can do , if you get piled it is over , and you have no chance to prove that you are advanced. In general , do not get hit. 3.0-Equipment- I suggest that you should get the best Armour and equipment possible for your level. Even a level 90 could be weak compared to a level 70 with full rune. The best melee gear you can possibly have in f2p is :
The best tanking equipment is a must , tanking does not require a staff , but if you want to avoid taking damage from mage's as much as possible you should equip one while tanking . Not only will a staff protect from mage damage , a staff will give a player higher slash and stab defense. Out of all staff choices the best staff is a water staff. A water staff does not give a strength bonus at all , the lower the strength of a player the less likely they will get hit , and a water staff will give higher defense bonus in most areas. If you are picky about Armour matching using another staff will not have much effect on the damage you take. You will need a dragon hide top . This is a must, unlike a staff; at times you will need to equip dragon hide to prevent binds . Do not equip dragon hide when getting piled by too many meelers , only when you are being binded and only when you are far away from meelers. 4.0-Evasive techniques- EVASION _________ We are starting out with evasive techniques because clan wars is not only based on offense , you need to understand the importance of evasion . If you get piled and die quickly , you will not have a chance to show your offensive moves , by using evasive techniques ; not only will you eliminate your chances of dying you will eliminate the chances of your tea mates dying , this will give you the chance to pile at your fullest extent. Really skilled players will try not to get hit at all. If the opposing clan cannot pile they cannot win , if they cant hit ; they cant win. I will use many abbreviations, melee protect=mp eq= equip __________________________________________________ ______________________________ __________________________________ Pray hug - Most of us have limited prayer and it doesn't last long. Here is one example how this works.lets say there are 8 people on one side of a wall and 1 person on the other side , you might use melee protect on the side with 8 people and when you are hugging to the other side , turn off mp because the 8 people will usually not reach for at least 5 seconds. This may not seem very effective, but if you use it many times in a war you will almost triple your prayer every time. R2h protect(r2hp) - A r2h has a pause lag of 2.5 seconds , meaning for 2.5 seconds a r2h cant hit after every hit. 1 second before a r2h hits , you can turn mp on to block it. Right after it hits turn your mp off.By doing this you are saving a lot of prayer. You can do this with r2hs , baxs , war hammer's and maces. Please note that you cant do it as soon as it hits , you have to do it 2 seconds before the weapon hits you leaving 0.5 secs for the hit. [R2h kite block](r2hkb) - if you hit your opponent with a r2h first and they have one but hit you with one after 2.5 secs. They will hit after you every time . Before they hit equip a kite and after they hit wear a r2h hit while they are stuck by their pause lag. repeat(don't use a scimmy with the kite) If you combine the r2hp and the r2hkb together you will come up with one move called the r2hkbp. This will usually be very difficult to use for the first time , dont expect to get it right away. hug and eat - You can use objects to hug then eat so you dont get attacked while eating. This will give two advantages. 1. It will allow you to save turns , meaning you can eat all you want while the opposing clan cannot attack.2. You will heal faster and have a lower chance of dying while inactive. hug and switch - For those who want to chance weapons , you can hug an object then chance weapons and even chance to mage/ range. The opposing clan will not be able to attack you while you are switching behind a wall or rock. staff scim switch(sss)] - While tanking you should absolutely use this . This should count as another major technique like the pray hug.Here is an example how this works , there may be 10 players on one side of a wall , but 1 on the other side or maybe 2 . While on the side with 10 people or more use a staff , when hugging to the side with few people switch to a staff while hugging there. Remember , a staff always gives higher def bonus including high mage protection , and if you pick the right one it will give the lowest strength bonus; the lower the strength bonus the lower the chances of getting hit. It would be useless to use the staff on the side with less people . While on the side with less people you have a chance to attack after every switch. [mage reduction] - Not really a pro technique but you should use it like the pray hug and weapon swap. If you were tanking and 10 people couldn't reach but a mage can attack , don't just constantly take hits from the mage attacking you You should take off as much Armour as possible at every given chance in a situation like this. This is the principle of mage reduction. hugging stall - You have 1 or 2 people on you and 1 more tea mate there to help you but you have around 5 hp . Don't try to attack . Instead you can do this , hug a wall to stall and distract the 1 or 2 people. continue to hug the wall, this works as a stall until your tea mate kills them all. If you offer yourself and die it could be over for your tea mate who can still stay in. The Tank infinite - this is almost the cheapest thing you can do so far because even if you are going against a lvl 126 as a lvl 3 you cant get killed most of the time basically it is impossible; what you do is circle a wall the opposing clan will have to go one way and you will have to go one way if you go the opposite way every time they will not be able to reach as long as run energies are equal if they cant reach in time to get your hp below 0 and they cant reach then its over for them because they will never be able to reach this is the wall infinite; you can circle trees for rangers and mage's and they will never be able to reach they cant hit you cant hit this only works against 1 person 5.0 -Offensive techniques- OFFENSIVE Do not limit yourself to only evasive techniques , without offense you will not win a war . We need to attack when possible , never attack around groups of opposing clan members , only attack loners and try to stay away from anybody at least 10 levels higher than you. __________________________________________________ ______________________________ _____________________________ Desynchronized walk(Dw) - When the run energy of two players are both at 0 percent and they cannot reach , they will never be able to reach. In this technique the run energy of many players are reduced including the tanker. some players will save their run energy , they will be the only ones able to reach while the players at 0 percent run energy are far behind; meaning the ones behind are useless until they recover their energy or reach you in some way. The tanker can now do was on the one that can reach taking the opposing clan down one by one. Until all players are once again synchronized piling will be close to impossible. rune scimmy lag cancel (rslc) - When two players are both at the same end of any way; both on opposite sides this can be done. First a player will need to hug the wall then attack right away using a rune scimmy , right after a hit they will need to get back on the side they were originally at. This can be repeated until the player being attacked goes to your side, if this were to happen you can go to their side and repeat. If the other player does not counter you will find that you will be the only one able to attack. This works because by hugging the wall then attacking you make the lag of your weapon 0, the pause lag of a rune scimmy is 1.5 by hugging the wall, this pause lag is 0-0.5 No matter which weapon your opponent uses if they don't hug the wall and attack or attack right away, their pause lag will always be higher because they are using sas while you are using was reducing lag. R2h lag cancel -(r2hlc) If you had trouble comprehending the rslc. This clan show you the idea. Just like the rslc you will hug the wall and attack , but this time using a r2h , The lag of a r2h is 2.5 while on one side you are removing the lag. When it is gone you can hit and repeat. r2h lag cancel without wall (r2hlcww) - If the enemy has walk on and you have run on , you can hit with your r2h then run a certain distance where you will not get hit at , then attack when the lag is gone . synchronized tanking - While another player tanks you can click ahead behind the wall or an object and when they reach you can attack if you do this well enough you can tank while they are and attack them at the same time this I call synchronized tanking and is an offensive move This is all for now ; I will be adding more later and I am sure I missed quite a few if anybody has a good technique you can post it here and I will add it. Please remember , to be pro you cannot simply rely on these techniques; you must use your brain, always help your teammates and remember the basic concepts. 6.0 Staying organized It doesn't matter whether you are in a small or large clan, to be pro , you must be be organized at all times. Before the start of every war try to devise a good plan . For example , if your clan goes up to find that all of the opposing clan is not at the front and suspects that they may be at their portal, a good plan would be to wait until the opposing clan splits up or follow somebody and go down cautiously. Whereas a bad plan would be your clan going strait down and getting piled. In big clans of 20 people or more , if you your clan is warring 30 people or more you may want to stay back because if your clan goes up your clan could get piled quicker. Here are a few tips for the clan leader:
7.0 Conclusion Well , I really hope you found this guide useful and maybe I will bump into some amazing pros later , it could be you. hopefully most of you will be able to use some of the advanced techniques.
