Me = Punched Up!

Hey Guys,

Yesterday I played my Australian Rules Football Game and the most violent situation I have ever been in occured.

It was in the last Quarter of the game when this guy started a fight with one of my team mates who was half the size he was. I then jumped in and shoved this guy of, who then proceeded to start shoving me. It then turned into a bit of jumper punching (grabbing the shirt and punching the chest, or in that case the chin) when I was reported and sent of the ground. Fairly pathetic reason to be sent off.

But as I was leaving the opposition started, and boy did they start. Players all over the opposition were running in to punch me in the face, stomach, where ever the could. The last guy I can remember was an aboriginal guy coming straight up to me and swinging a fist right into my jaw and another guy swearing at me as I came off the field with a possible broken jaw and black eye.

I now have to face the tribunal for sticking up for my team mate? I never swung a punch, all I did was defend my much smaller team mate by shoving the other guy away. I am currently preparing my case that I will present to the board at the tribunal. Wish me luck!

Just tell them the truth, get a witness (your coach) to say what happened and hope the best arrives.

Funny you should say that Matt, there was a guy at the game actually filming, unfortunately he didn't get that part on camera.

They got 3 reports. One because of the guy I was wrestling with, another was the aboriginal guy who ran up and king hit me and the other was a separate incident when one of their players hit one of our players. They didn't see all the other people hit me though, it was a big pack. I will be getting the guy I backed up to come to the stand. A women who is part of the Football Team Management actually rang-up a few people to get what they saw, she said to me that a players mum saw me get punched out twice. I however can't remember all of the punches, I was very concussed after it.

I have to also act as a witness to the aboriginal guy who hit me. I am going to try and get him the most weeks I can possibly get him, he is a low-life piece of scum. I am not being racist about his Culture, he is a low-life for going up to my and having the nerve to punch me in the jaw.

Anyhow, back to writing up more reports to read out to the Tribunal Board. With that amount of reports, and the history that team has had with the Tribunal, it looks good, but we have to wait and see.

Lol, you're league is dumb (no offense). They give you tribunal, when what they REALLY should give you is a medal.

Note: I am not a lawyer of anykind, the following is just fro mthe little I know...

From what I see, it's just self-defense.

Did he [the larger person] do anything that made the atmosphere violent. As in, you're teamate was walkign to the bathroom, and the larger person attacked him?

Also, did the larger person threaten you're teamate?

I have no idea how Australian law is, but in America, the term I believe is assault and battery.

Did you go to the hospital. If you did, you can counter-sue, the charges being something like the already stated assault and battery. In addition, you can sue for pain and suffering, and hospital bills, if any**.

But, you probably have universal health care...

* Assault = threatening. Battery = the attack. If he didn't threaten, than it's only Battery.

** Any includes known longterm operations (worsening an already existing condition)

Remember, I'm not a lawyer of ANY kind.

Don't take my word, search it on the internet. And, there might not be any point in suing. But I definitly would try and bring this up at tribunal.

He isnt getting sued.

The tribunal is where they decide how many weeks you are suspended for, or if the case is thrown out.
