Necro Vs. Spam

Ok. sub posted in a recent thread. i think, that any post past the 1 month mark should be locked. Anybody who posts should have their posts deleted, and the thread locked. Otherwise, people will just post in the threads, and get it locked. This may be a big task but mods should close the threads over 1 month old.

My sentiment was momentary, significant to that situation.


The "search" feature is inarguably one of the best and most smiled upon features we have, using that feature to it's full extent, to prevent "spam"; generates more small identical topics, ideally, one large topic with a lot of traffic deferring to the same subject is what we want.


So, yes.


Necro isn't always necro, although it is necro.


Necro posting is alright sometimes.


But only when appropriate.

really, it depends on the information in the post, and on intellegence.

i think people need to understand that the primary reason that necroing is frowned upon is that it may dredge up topics that are no longer relevant/important, or topics where the original posters no longer are active.

most of the time, it's just a matter of common sense.

posts about time sensitive events (dparty, rs HD, wwpk, etc.) should not be necroed for long after the event is over

posts about concepts (money making, FOG, PKing, etc.) can and sometimes should be necroed to keep content up to date.
