Your opinion on weapons, Tips on the weapons are nice too! xD

OK, I have thought of ways to be non-mainstream Non-Member. Like everyone has the 2h swords with full rune armor, or the knight shield. It is all too standard for me.
So, I am posting this topic on your feelings of weapons and armors for the non-member crowd.
The Questions:
1.) Mace Or Warhammer? Run-of-the-mill Staff or the Air Staff, ect. Or generic Swords? (No offence swords do have multiple advantages)
2.) What is armor is good for all around questing and such?
3.) The crazed discussion on Warrior Boots to the Rainbow boots (I forget the Rainbow boot name)?
4.) Is alchemy worth it?
5.) Is it to risky for a Level 20-30 to fight giants (Since Giants' Bones are a pretty penny)?
6.) Types of Shields are you favorite and why?
7.) Any other helpful tips?
8.) Is being a member really, really worth it?

Great questions, i'll try to answer them all.

1) WOW. I just wondered this as well, so i did a little research. It turns out, a Warhammer, while slower then a mace, hits much higher. I was hitting 18s more frequently with prayer on and 70 str. With a Mace, it seemed my accuracy wasn't as high as the warhammer, and i was hitting constant 13s, with a rare 17. I tested each weapon 5 times in the duel arena against my friend. It was the same 5 tests, so i can assure you that i would prefer the warhammer.

2) This depends. The msot obvious answer is Rune, but since you don't like that, i would recommend Rune chain and square shield. It's a bit different look, but it stops more crushing blows that you may face from a demon or dragon perhaps.

3) Depends on your style. Personally i chose Warrior becuase i thought the rainbow ones were "cheesy or girly" but a lot of people like the rainbow boots with god armors. Now, i dont have any of them anymore because i dont like the look of either of them, but if you want to look like a warrior choose the less popular warrior boots, and if you want to look like the average joe wear the fancy boots.

4) Depends, we have a whole seperate topic actually discussing this. Ill link you to it, check my response i just posted a pretty hefty one about a test i just ran on it. few quick f2p questions

5) No, it's fine i starting fighting Hill Giants at level 18, and not especially they are very profitable, their bones being about 600gp each! I say go for it ;)

6) Kite shield, looks and stats are good too.

8) Nope, to be honest F2P is just as fun :)

i'll just add to chaoss i guess

1)a rune mace give an extra 4+ prayer boost and it is much cheaper (so war hammer might be better)

2) rune chainbodies give a better defense against crush weapons like maces and battleaxe so it could still be a little better since a decent amount of people use battleaxes i think with crush

3) They give the same bonuses. i just wear none of them

4)don't know

5) don't know haven't killed much hill giants. maybe if you range/mage with a safespot

6) berserker shield since i found out it gives you a str bonus and i pwn at fog so, why not

7) don't make the game a chore

8) it is worth the $5 a month (i think) but if you enjoy the f2p, just stay f2p. it is still great

4.) Depends what you alch - Generally you make a ross
5.) Depending on your defence and armour - and with good food, yea you could do well
6.) Kites just cause they look better!
7.) Get money making stats like woodcutting and fishing up for lots of money!
8.) Hell yeah! For 5 a month its REALLY worth it!
