Rangers wearing backpack things. What is it? Help would be much appreciated.

Ok. This may be a stupid question, but I saw a bunch of people in a common ranging area wearing these backpack looking things. There were a few of them wearing blue dragon hide and a few wearing black. They were all wearing something that looked like a bkacpack. I think it was greay-ish, but don't take my word for it. I range a bit, so I am wondering what that is, and why high level rangers are using it. They were 90 or so. Also, if you know what it is, how do you obtain it? Finally, what does it do? Any information would be great. Please help if you know. :D

The backpack looking thing is called ava's device. It automatically retrieves the arrows and/or bolts you use provided that there is nothing blocking the way and the distance is not too far (I'm not sure how far that is though, it always retrieves mine just fine). You can obtain Ava's device by completing the animal magnetism quest.

I REALLY need to do that. Does it retrieve all of the arrows? I am planning to use rune arrows and get them back automatically. Also, thanks for all the help. :D

I don't know much about them but i'm sure you could do a bit of research. But i'm guessing they do as if there is something in the way it won't therefore can't be mis-used. :)

i think it only goes up to steal. and it has an upgrade.

That is correct, it only works up to steel and that is with the upgrade. Also, I just discovered that it does more than I originally thought. Periodically, the device also makes arrows for you (in about 5-10min increments). It also collects knives and the occasional clockwork mouse.

*note: the upgrade requires lvl 50 range and 70 steel arrows. If you already meet those requirements you will get the upgrade automatically, if you don't then you will have to return to Ava when you do.

its a quest item (ava's deveice)or(ava's accumulator) obtained during animal magnetism quest to make endless arrows 4 u it is earned at he end of the quest wich ould begin in draynor maynor secret room(the one for the ernest the cicken quest

Steel arrows are perfect for training, and it makes arrows for u? wow i need to get one of those...
