How can people afford phats?

Hello everybody, i currently have about 7mil in cash and rising at a steady rate and I think im doing alright until someone walks past me with a dragon chain, saradomin sword and a white phat. The dragon chain is 9.6mil*, the saradomin sword is 8.6mil* and the white phat is 266mil*! i would be happy to have 20mil. so my question is how do some people rack up so much cash that they are able to even afford the cheapest phat and still have enough left over for other things like a godsword or bandos armour?

In f2p I don't see any easy for a player to have the money for a phat, it would take A LOT of hard work. But in p2p it can be done alot easier, like Tupac said, one of the ways is getting expensive drops. The visage is around 25m, but theres more things, like hilt drops (most expensive hilt is almost 100m). And the treasure trail stuff like 3rd age melee set is over 100m.

Once people get into the mils its faster to make more money using that, by investing it into items.

treasure trail, maybe they got a gs from bh, GWD, nature running, rwt, or glitches and bugs can make a lot of money fast...

or maybe that guy was an old player and got the p hat from the event...

No one wants to buy a phat. For the last few months, at least, on the forums people are selling phats for minimum in GE and any junk possible. Also, now with the lending, who wants to waste there money on a phat, when they can just borrow one. It's only use was to look cool, but now any random person can get it, if they have good friends/pay for it to be lent.
