The 'Shiznickles' Runescape Post

Let's see.

I'll start (yeah, my thread title pwns anything ftwinishxorz0z).



I see lots of people saying that runescape is being played by under aged children more and more and more. And how they are heaps annoying and so on.


That is indeed a fact, which I can't deny.


But the question is: most of these people say that Jagex estimulates people 'under-aged' to play the game and that it is a problem.



And that's where they lose me.


They may argument that it's based off money. Little kids ask their parents to pay them membership. Little kids have their parent do anything they want, and that way, Jagex does a lot of money from kids. They can also say that little kids are becoming increasingly addicted to the world of technology and the Internet.


And to explain that, they also say that Jagex makes the game more and more for little kids to play. The trade limit so you don't get scammed. Even when the new graphics came out, they talked about it.


I am not disagreeing with everything. But let's see. First off, why is having people under the age of 13 playing? The only problem I see is it being against the Terms of Conduct. Because of that internet law and blablabla.


I am not that inspired lik that unfortunately. =\


But I felt like making a post like this.



If kids don't go against the rules and annoying people, what's the big problem? There are so many kids breaking the rules and annoying other players, as there are 'less kid kids' breaking the same rules.

In real life, there are kids.


And if you want to base runescape so much on real life (People go around posting stuff about the runescape economy clashing and making half baked theory about everything in the game, giving aspects of real life to 'prove' it, instead of just playing the damn game...), why are little kids so annoying? Maybe because it's nature? Probably. But oh well, this isn't getting along very well. I may not even be saying what I want, so whatever, let's move on.


Is jagex making this a game for children?

Let's see. How many people over like 25 or 30 play the game? Hum. That should give you an idea. Why are people under that considered anything more than children. The average man isn't mature until like the age of 30. And you know it's true. So, just to make a point, most of rs players ARE, in fact, children.



Jagex is a company. Companies want money. So it's obvious they will look for the best ways to make money. Having a game full of rwt,bots and scammers wouldn't help people buy some membership months, would it? But making improvements to the graphics does now, doesn't it? Making animations more cartoonized, although not completely, just gives the game a fresh new look. Why is that making it children-like? It may help bringing children to the game, but PERSONALLY, I don't see it being the main point.

But let's see. Another thing that companies want is a good relationships with the consumers/costumers. Because having lots of good thing, but having angry costumers wouldn't help either. Again, it's just my view. If you ask me, Jagex does give some feedback to the players. If you ask me if they give their maximum, I won't say they do. Thing is, they give some feedback, but not what they should.


But I see everyone complaining and complaining, but everyone just keeps playing. And forgeting about their complaints. And being happy.


And suddenly, when something happens, they remember their old complaints and say how much they have suffered since then. It's human nature, nothing else. And I understand it.


But critisizing and critisizing and critisizing a bit more makes people happy? I mean, I would want some updates to the game being done, but I am not worried about it, nor do I say I can't play without them, while hipocritally, still playing.

Main point is, people love to blaim someone for anything, so it either goes to kids or Jagex.


I know I am already out of the subject I was talking about, but most honestly, I was failing at it so, right now, I am just going with the flow.



Again, main point, just play the game, and don't kid about it. =)

i dont see what the problem is other with kids under 13 than them breaking the rules and that law. if they arrested every parent of a child who did that, there probably wouldnt be much left.

the only thing i see in kids is that they are getting more stupid.

there are probably only a few kids i know that know how to behave properly and all that.

but i see that kids are learning swear words more often, they are acting more childish than they are when i was a child and they are just stupid

but maybe that is because they are dumbing down the learning curves, or that it is just in my community.

but it might be because ppl are just lazy

and yes i know, i used "but" alot.
