RSAddicts' Forum Rules

Welcome to our humble forums! We are a very friendly and helpful bunch (Well, most of us ). We are a fairly easy going forum however, like most forums, we are "plagued" with individual users who intend to post inappropriate comments, pictures and remarks on the forum. For this reason, we need to set some rules to ensure we keep this an enjoyable forum for everybody, and make it a place were our members would keep visiting and wanting to use. Please read our rules carefully and remember to follow them!

I. General Forum Rules

• Everyone is to follow these rules, regardless if they are Mod Trainee's, Moderators or Super Moderators.

Accusation

• If you have substantial proof that a member is hacking/scamming another member of the forums, please PM a forum leader with the proof. Do Not post on the forum about this kind of situation.
• If this accusation is proven to be false, the Forum Leaders will take action against the accuser for wasting our time. So please make sure you are at least 90% positive that a member is hacking/scamming another member.
• If this accusation is proven to be true, action will be taken against the attempted hack/scam. The punishment will be decided by the Forum Leaders.
• Infraction level: 1 (3 points)

Advertising

• Advertising another website or forum by making a thread/in the signature/in a post/PM is NOT allowed.
• Only exception to this rule is in the Clan Forums only, where you can only post your clan forums link.
• This rule also abides to posting links and referals to scam/hack sites.
• Failure to follow this rule will result in a direct temporary ban for 2 days.
• Infraction Level: 3 (10 points)

Bypassing firewalls

• Making threads requesting/supplying information on bypassing security and firewall systems of schools or workplaces is strictly forbidden.
• Infraction Level: 3 (10 points)

Discrimination

• Any form of discrimination will NOT be tolerated on the forum. Members are NOT to insult a member's religious, sexual or other personal beliefs.
• Bringing up religious beliefs and attempting to talk about a certain religion is the same thing as breaking this rule.
• Infraction Level: 3 (8 points)

Double Posting

• You can not make two posts one after another in the same thread. If you want to add something to your post, simply click the edit button.
• An Expection to this rule is in the Clan Forums, where clan members/leaders can post updates of their clan.
• Infraction Level: 1 (1 point)

Flaming

• There is to be no flaming on any forum or thread. Flaming is also considered insulting another member which the RSAddicts Forums dislike.
• Infraction Level: 2 (4 points)

Illegal Content

• No member is to post any illegal content. This means that piracy, warez or any other materials that are copyrighted are not allowed. There is to be no real life trading whatsoever. (Example: Selling computers/cellphones)
• Infraction Level: 3 (10 points)

Media

• You are allowed to post links of videos/pictures if the videos/pictures contain NO: nudity, curses, offensive language, disturbing images.
• Infraction Level: 3 (10 points)

Misleading Titles or Links

• The title of every Thread should be related to the content of the thread.
• Infraction Level: 1 (2 points)

Multiple Accounts

• Every member on the Forum are allowed to have only ONE account. IF a family member want to join the forum with the same computer as yourself, please contact a forum leader (Super Moderator or Admin) and get their permission before you do so.
• If a member is detected to have more than one account per IP address, the member will be PMed on ALL accounts of a warning for 2 days before all accounts under that IP address will be DELETED.
• Infraction Level: None.

Thread Necroing/Bumping

• Threads with the last post of 30+ days, a member can not post in it. No exceptions.
• Every thread can be bumped, or revived once again from the Thread Necro rule. However, members are allowed to bump a thread once every 7 days. To bump a thread, simply make a quick reply with the word "BUMP"
• Infraction Level: 2 (4 points)

Offensive Language

• Swearing or another inappropriate language is not allowed.
• It is in a member's best interest if members do not go around the forum posting "Noob/Nub" or anything along those lines.
• Posts with those comments will be deleted.
• Infraction Level: 3 (8 points)

Post in the correct Section

• Make sure to post your topics in the right forums. There are basic descriptions under each title of the boards, read them before posting.
• If a member is not sure, please feel free to PM a Forum Leader.
• Infraction Level: None.

Posting of Like-Topics

• Do not post similar topics of a subject. Please check the forums if a thread is already made.
• The newly repeated thread will be deleted or closed.
• Infraction Level: None.

Spamming

• A thread or post containing 2 words/smilies/useless is considered a spam post/thread.
• Do not make spam thread/posts other in the Spam BoX (dedicated to spam)
• Infraction Level: 2 (7 points)

Style of Writing

• Avoid using unnecessary capital letters in your threads/posts. Also avoid using multi colored words or colors that blends in with the forum post background.
• Infraction Level: 2 (4 points)

• All members of the RSAddicts Forum are to follow all Runescape Rules.
• Yes, All 15 of them.

III. Infractions/ Appeal a ban/ Forum Leaders

• Infractions
  • Infractions are warnings given to members who has broken the forum rules. Depending on the different levels of Infractions, members will be given certain points for breaking each rule. Once you reach 10 points, you will recieve an automatic ban.

• Levels of Infractions:
• ~ 1 (1 to 3 points given)
• ~ 2 (4 to 7 points given)
• ~ 3 (8 to 10 points given)

• Appeal a Ban
  • To appeal a ban, you must register again with the same email address of your main banned account. However, the name has to have "Banned" in front of it. For example: "Banned Test2111". Once you have that name registered, you must PM a Forum Leader (Super Moderator or Admin). The appeal may not always happen, but if it does, the "Banned...." account will be deleted and you are able to use your old account starting from 0 infraction points.

• Forum Leaders
  • The forum leaders of RSAddicts are the Mod Trainees, Moderators, Super Moderators and Administrators.
  • Mod Trainees: Nominated members who are training to become Moderators.
  • Moderators: Moderators who work hard enough may be advanced to Super Moderators.
  • Super Moderators: Last level of Moderators, have second to highest power other than Admin.
  • Administrators: Unreachable group of members who work on the forums.

IV. Reputation Rules

• Members of the forums are not allowed to ask members for reputation in PM/Posts/Threads/Signatures.
• If this rule is broken, the member who asked for the reputation points will be deducted 5 points more of their reputation power.
• Reputation power is the amount you're able to give to other members. It is based off your post count and reputation points.
• If a member is asking for reputation, please contact a Forum Leader right away. If proven to be true, the person who reported to the forum leader will recieve +5 points.
• To sum it all up, If members want to give reputation, they will give it. If they don't, they won't. So please do not ask for it or give and ask for it in return.

V. Sticky/ Poll Threads

• Please do not spam our forums with mass Polls. You may not sticky any thread unless you ask a Forum Leader. All threads stickied MUST be either announcements, or important information (if the thread is not made by a Forum Leader)

VI. Moderator Rules

• All forum leaders are to follow these few simple rules:
  • Do not flaunt your power to any member of the forum by saying you're superior.
  • If you are leaving for vacation or other purposes, please post in our Moderator's Forums.
  • Adding new rules must go through ALL moderators, no exceptions.
  • If you ban/infract a member, you MUST post in the Moderator's Forums
  • Do Not falsely accusing another member of breaking a rule (in other words, setting them up)
• Failure to follow these rules MAY result in removal of Modship from 2 days to permanently.

VII. Legal Print

• Thou Shalt Not Mention "Freedom of Speech." Or we'll vomit. This is a private forum, and you are our invited guests. The administrators have a tough job, trying to keep the forums clean and presentable while not willingly stifling open discussion. If a thread or post is locked or deleted, that was the necessary step to take in the judgment of the administrator. Please don't bandy irrelevant constitutional law and hope to plea the case for less "censorship." Don't start a vote, don't throw food, don't throw a hissy fit, don't light up torches and mob our central office. We don't censor, we exercise judgment and quality control on something in which we invest a lot of time and effort. We only accept posts written in English.
• Failure to follow this rule, members will recieve a ban of 2 days and infraction level 2 (5 points).
