Fletching is a very usefull skill if you are a high leveled archer. With fletching you can make bows, arrows, bolts, darts, and crossbows.
You begin at Level 1 at which you can make Bronze arrows. You take a set of normal logs. Cut them with a knife into arrow shafts. Apply feathers to the arrow shafts (these can be bought or obtained by killing chickens). Then apply bronze arrow heads to the headless arrows (bronze arrow heads can be bought from other players or can be smithed).
The same follows for each kind of arrow. Dragon arrows can only be made through catching implings and getting dragon arrowheads to make into very expensive arrows.
Before, some1 said that if u drink something ur stats go down. Also, if u are attacked by certain monsters or eat something this can happen too.
[edit] Training Fletching
Fletching is many peoples favorite skill for money. You can sell bows and arrows to rangers for huge amounts. All you need is a knife, a woodcutting axe, and some flax. What you do is cut some wood, use your knife on it and make it into and unstrung bow, or into arrow shafts (only with regular logs). If you want arrows, you need to attach feathers and then arrowheads which can be made through the smithing skill. Training on fletching willows is good for exp all the way up to lvl 99.
[edit] How do you find your fletching level?
- Go to the skills tab noted by a graph while playing the game.
- Go down to the picture of two arrows facing opposite directions in the second column on the sixth row.
- Your level will be ?/? with the question marks replaced by numbers.

The first number in the sequence is what your level is at at the moment. The second number is what you have trained the skill to be.
[edit] Making Money
To make tons of quick cash through fletching, get a pretty high woodcutting and fletching as these skills go hand in hand. Once you have good levels(70+), make tons of Yew longbows and high-alc them into 768gp per bow.
Once you get to lvl 85 fletching i would suggest making magic longbows and high alcing them as u will get over 1500gp per magic longbow you high alc.
If you can't do high alchemy yet, most high level mages will buy 1k yew longbows for 630k.
the way i make money is getting 26 willow long bows (u) and selling them all to a general store which gets around 300gp at least!
(please note you have to get high wood cutting level for this to be fast)
[edit] The Road to 99
Getting to lvl 99 fletching is not by any means easy, its long, time coonsuming and if u buy all the logs from lvl 1 to lvl 70 its very expensive, but once you reach 70 fletching you have the ability to make yew longbows. These will make you loads of money and so is probably the best part and the main reason that many people train fletching.
Here is my suggested route to get to 99 fletching;
lvl 1-10
Cut down normal trees and fletch them into arrowshafts then add feathers to them to make headless arrows, this will help in the future with already having the arrowshafts for any arrows later on.
lvl 10-20
Start making longbows out of the logs DO NOT STRING THEM as you will just be wasting money.
lvl 20-25
Now move on to making oak shortbows and remember DO NOT STRING THEM as its a waste of money.
lvl 25-35
Start making oak longbows and remember DO NOT STRING THEM .
lvl 35-40
Now move on to willow short bows and DO NOT STRING THEM .
lvl 40-50
Now make willow longbows, DO NOT STRING THEM .
lvl 50-55
Next move on to maple shortbows. these give good xp and are quite fast if u have a good wc lvl and DO NOT STRING THEM .
lvl 55-70
make maple longbows all the way to 70 because yew shortbows are far too slow and if you wish to buy them will lose you money extreemley quickely. DO NOT STRING THEM .
lvl 70-99
Make yew longbows and STRING THEM ALL then sell them to high alcers or alc them yourself.
To get to lvl 99 for lvl 70 you will need to make 82k yew longbows so good luck and start stockpiling yew logs now.
After lvl 99...
Get the skillcape and show off about it Make loads of arrows and sell for good money Get your hunter lvl to 83 and catch dragon implings then make the dragon arrowheads into dragon arrows and sell for 5-10k each.
