[edit] Runescape Cooking Skill

Runescape cooking is the ability to cook food for your health or personal profit, it is a profitable skill to learn and is helpful in your quest's as the first quest your should do is Cook's Assistant.

[edit] How do you find your cooking level?

  1. Go to the skills tab noted by a graph while playing the game.
  2. Go down to the picture of a brown pot in the third column on the fourth row.
  3. Your level will be ?/? with the question marks replaced by numbers.

[edit] What is this: ?/?

The first number in the sequence is what your level is at at the moment. The second number is what you have trained the skill to be.

[edit] Bringing up my cooking level

Cooking and fishing can go hand in hand. there for if you are a low level fisher go to Draynor and start filling your inventory with food, there are usually people woodcutting so some one is bound to start a fire giving you access to somewhere to cook.as time goes on you'll be able to cook more and more kinds of foods so try and have as many cooking materials as you can fit in your pack.

If you are looking for a fast way to level up your cooking, then just buy food from other people and cook it. If you want to train other skills at the same time then either, depending on your level, kill chickens and cook the raw chickens, or fish and cook your fish. If you are a low combat level, the chickens are recommended. You get feathers, which can sell for up to 15gp each, raw chickens, and bones(bury them for prayer exp). What is really neat is that raw chickens give 35exp when you cook them, and once you get to about cooking level 15 or so, it becomes nearly impossible to burn them, burning gives no exp. A good place for this method is the Champions Guild as it has several chickens and a range. If you fish your cooking supplies, then it takes longer. However, you can sell your excess fish for a lot of cash. This method works best at fishing and cooking level 40 or above so you can fish and cook lobster.

After a cooking level of 40, you can cook lobsters! If your looking to "powerlevel" your cooking level, then take noted willows, 50.06k and tinderbox to Karamja and go west to the fish store. Be sure to have at least 30 fire making as well. Many fishers sell their raw fish to the general/fishing store. First, you need to sell about 10 of your willow logs to the store. Buy a willow log back (you won't loose any money)so that it is now, unnoted. Make a fire with your tinderbox and then buy 25 tuna or lobster. Press the cook all option and cook away. Your guaranteed to burn a few, but stay calm. Sell you cooked tunas or lobsters back to the store and drop your burned fish. Next, buy another willow back from the store and buy another 25 tuna or lobster. Repeat your process until a desired fishing level! At level 74 fishing you will never burn a lobster again, so with 50.06k you can stay on Karamja for a very long time!

Buy fish you can cook. Cook it. When you exceed the fish you are at and go to the next ranks of the fish you can cook, do not immediately jump in. Rather, keep on cooking the cheaper fish until you stop burning a lot. If you burn here a lot, you will burn like no tomorrow at the next rank. Also, try to cook on the range in Lumbridge castle. It gives you a higher percentage of not burning and there is a bank 2 flights up. Just keep cooking until your burning almost ceases and move up. Keep doing that. Buy from the fishing stores when you can because they are easier to buy from and usually much cheaper. You can buy from the Port Sarim shop and then cook in the range above and store in either the Falador east bank or Draynor bank. Easy. You’ll be extremely high in no time at all.

Option B: For those who are not so rich

Train your fishing in coordination with your cooking. If your already a high fishing level, well good for you. This will just be some more training. Basically, fish and cook every piece of thing that you fish. Simple.

Get yourself a net. Fish shrimp. Cook the shrimp. Do this until level 20. Fishing rises and your cooking rises at a good rate. They should grow about equally. Now, after you are 20, you need to fly fish. Get yourself some feathers and a fly fishing rod and go fly fishing. The most common stop in barbarian village. Banks to both sides, one in lummy, one in fally. Keep on cooking your fish. Your cooking will go up at about equal rate of your fishing. Trust me, it works.

When you are level 50-70 fishing, your cooking should be about the same. Go catch lobbies now at karajma. If you want to have a little fun, bring an ax and a tinderbox. Some trees are cuttable there. People pay stacks of raw fish, if you make them a fire. Do that to get some quick fish to cook. Now, once you are higher, you can choose to get swordfish. Test out if swordfish are fast enough. If so, you can choose to get them.

Option B2:

Fish still, but if you want some variation and a little fun, go kill some things that will give you meat. Maybe have some fun destroying chickens because they give you meat to cook and feathers for fly fishing.

Also, the guild isn’t really too good anyway. It has a bunch of stuff, but it is usually for gourmet cooking. That isn’t for leveling, but to look nice. Not even for experience is it too good, considering the time it takes to do that.

NOTE: If you buy raw food, it is very smart to sell the food that you successfully cook. In this way, if you buy the raw food, you lose no money. If you fish your own food, you make a tremendous profit.

[edit] Cooking Tips

If you are near a range when cooking use the range because you have more chance of burning the food you are cooking on a fire than on a range. Also once you do the cook's assistant quest you are then allowed to use the chiefs special ranges which make your food burn less. Another thing is that when you get to certain levels and over you can't burn some foods which is always good to know which foods you can never burn.

[edit] Cooking Guild

The guild features a mill that grinds grain into flour, an important cooking ingredient. To use the mill, first collect grain from a wheat field. The nearest one is directly behind the building. Once you have your grain, go to the top floor of the guild and use it on the hopper. Every time you put grain in the hopper, operate the controls. After the millstones have ground your grain, go to the ground floor and collect your flour in pots.

[edit] Ground Floor

One side of the room has a chute where the flour comes out of the mill. A table on the north side features a chocolate bar spawn. The east side has a very useful range right next to a bank, but these may only be accessed if you are wearing a Varrock armour (3) chestplate obtained from the Varrock Achievement Diaries. Members can visit Romily Weaklax's Pie Shop on this floor (shop items are listed in a table below).

[edit] First Floor

On this floor there are two ranges ready for use. (Check Tip.It's Cooking Skill Guide for information on how to cook any food.) Members can use the churn to make dairy products (butter, cream, and cheese). The millstones can also be viewed at this level. Spawns include: Pie dish, Cake tin, Bowl, and two Cooking apples.

[edit] Second floor

On this floor you can put grain in the hopper and operate the controls to grind flour. You can also collect items for making wine. Spawns include: Cooking apple, Jug, Pot, Grapes.

[edit] Pie Shop (members only)

Back down on the ground floor, Romily Weaklax sells pies. His prices are listed in the table below. He also sells a recipe book for making pies. Note that multiple pie ingredients must be added in the exact order listed. You can't mess up - it just won't let you add ingredients in the wrong order.

The Pies section of the Cooking Skill Guide discusses pies and exactly how to make them. For example, fish must be cooked before they are added to pies. Also, pies are eaten in two bites.

Romily Weaklax also has a challenge for you: would you make him a certain number of a specific type of pie? He will pay you for your efforts. The pay is only a bit more than the cost of ingredients, and since most ingredients are valued quite low, you won't get rich making pies for him. It's just one way to break up your training routine if you want to try something different. e some more training. Basically, fish and cook every piece of thing that you fish. Simple.

[edit] Cooking Skill Cape

Once you reach level 99 fishing, P2P's can buy a Skill Cape for 99K. Once you have 2 skill capes (which obviously means 99 in 2 skills), your 2 capes, plus all future ones become trimmed. A skill cape will bring the stat of the cape to 100 when worn. If you lose a skill cape, you pay 99K again to get it back. You can buy the fishing skill cape from The Master Fisherman outside of the Cooking Guild.
