If you are in a high level clan, pest control is a great option. Very large, high level clans are able to get on the pest control raft and make it auto-leave to increase speed. They are also able to quickly defeat the enemy. This allows a huge number of pest control points to be accumulated. In this way, the clan is gaining experience together because of their functionality as a group. It is smart to do it in a very low populated world that isn't known for pest control to avoid excess amounts of low level players that will weight down the chance of winning.

This clan activity is done with people of very similar combat levels. This allows a lot of clan members to protect each other in many areas. If you travel through multi-combat zones as a large unit and team up on enemies, you are usually going to win. Also, you have a tremendous amount of food and supplies between the clan. This allows for great efficiency because even if some people don't fight, they can bring supplies. If a dozen strong people team up on someone, it may only take an instant to win.

Clan members that all want to do a particular quest, and all do it together. This allows all the clan members to get the benefit from the quest, have fun on the way, and do it pretty quickly because they have guidance while doing it. It is sometimes good to have a person who has done the quest before to help out.

Clans that are united because they have a skill they train in common. Some clans are strength pures, some are united by woodcutting, etc. They train together and share tips and tricks of the trade.
