There are mines all over Runescape. Not all of them are accesible to everyone, because some require a certain Mining level to enter, and some are members only mines.
A good mine for beginners is the mine West of Lumbridge, when you are about level 20 the good mine is Al Karid, a good mine is the Mining guild in Falador, which has lots of Coal and some Mithril but you have to have a mining level of 60.
A good mining spot for mining lvl 5+ Is the dwarf mines north of Falador, it has Coal, Clay, Copper, Tin, Mithril, Iron, Gold, and Adnamant ores, there is also a furnace in Falador which is about a 1 minute run, and there are anvils in the mine, You can also fight dwarfs which sometimes drop chaos, nature and other runes.
The best non member mine is the mining guild (60+ mining level required(59 with dwarfian stout) because it has 5 mithril ore and 37 coal rocks. Another good thing about this mine is that it is next to a bank (east faldour bank). This is very useful for those miners who are mining lots of coal because they can quickly deposit it.
Another place for Leveling your mining to 20 is go down to Rimmington with the best pick and mine the ores down there. This is only good if you do not want to keep them because the only way you can get your mining to 20 this way is if you go to the general store 15 seconds walk through the path in the bottom-left hand corner of the mine. To get to this mine you leave falador through the bottom entrance and walk south west towards the mine. A really good mining spot is south of the fishing tutor in lumbridge when you can mine addy mithril and coal!
