[edit] Runescape Combat - Armour

One the most important things about combat is your armour. Whether you are ready to go into the Wilderness, or are just showing off your new zammorok armour, you want to look like a formidable opponent. You need to choose armour that you can easily afford, make, or find, because no one likes to lose their 175k set of rune armour to someone in the bounty hunter area. Here are some armour tips.

1) Try and raise your smithing level up to the point of mithril. It will be a good source of quick armor, and you will be able to sell it in order to get even stronger armour.

2) Never, get your amour from a Runescape shop, it sells for alot higher. Always buy your amour from the Grand Exchange, or other players.

3) Have good contacts, and good idea of the item's price, friends or well known people who you've help before might get it for you cheaper. remember what goes around, comes around

4) There are spawn points around wilderness for steel armour, iron daggers and crossbows,if you have the time and guts then you could probably go around searching for these.

Player killing (PK-ing) is advised to those who have experience and loyal teammates. You should probably take a good look at the map before entering, since people could attack you while looking at the map. Don't bring any important items, unless you're 100% sure you're not going attack anyone first (due to the fact you'll get skulled and death is frequent).

[edit] TRAINING

You will probably get killed a few times at first, but with experience and some strength potions you'll become a beast of the Wilderness (by beast, I mean anything from lion to a bunny).

---level 3-20 attack, strength, and defense:

When you first exit the tutorial, go to the guides to the west of you. Drop your air and mind runes, and then walk to the magic guide. Get some runes, and then walk to Varrock. Withdraw your 25gp and then go sell your runes at the rune shop, range stuff at range shop, melee stuff at sword shop, and the rest at the general store (except your tinderbox and food and bronze axe). Now walk up to the grand exchange and do the tutorial and then buy an iron scimitar and steel scimitar. Also buy any armour, robes, or anything you think is cool. If you have friends they will probably give you iron and steel armour if you ask. Now, go to your spells and home tele to lumbridge. Go to the cows and kill them (train attack to 5 before you train anything else. Then get defense to 5 and then strength to 5) and pick up their hide. These can sell for 150 gp each! Once you get a full inventory of hides, bank them in the top of lumbridge tower. If you get low on health, take some raw meat from the ground and go outside and chop down a tree. Light the logs and cook the meat. Eat. Repeat until you are full health. Whenever you can weild black weapons go to varrock and sell you hides at the grand exchange. Buy a black scimitar and black armour, and then continue this process until you have full mithril armour with a mithril scimitar.

---20 atk, str, and def to 40 atk and 35 str and def:

--OPTION A: continue earlier method. medium money and medium training speed.

--OPTION B: Complete Security Stronghold and train on level 13 goblins. Instant 10k but unless you have at least 50k then this isn't recommended. This is, however, the fastest way to adamant armour and rune scimitar if you can already afford them.

--OPTION C: This one will require food. Get a bronze key and go into the edgeville dungeon and kill the hill giants. You will get big bones that are 400gp each! Get a full inventory and then bank in Varrock. This will give you enough money for full rune but you will train extremely slowly.

---40 atk and 35 str and def to 50 atk str and def and 30 prayer:

--OPTION A: Get a bronze key and go into the edgeville dungeon and kill the hill giants. You will get big bones that are 400gp each! Get a full inventory and then bank in Varrock. This will give you enough money for full rune if you didnt do this earlier. If you did train to 40 defense and buy full rune and if you havent already buy a rune scimitar. Now that you have 40 attack strength and defense and full rune you will need to get 32 quest points and do dragon slayer. When you do this you can go back to the Hill Giants and train your prayer to 37 and your attack strength and defense to 50. To get money you can pick up limpwort roots or take the time to go and train your skills. I suggest woodcutting or fishing.

---50 attack, strength, and defense and 37 prayer to 60 attack, strength, and defense and 43 prayer:

Now you need to go and sell that rune scimitar and rune kite and buy a granite maul. If you are a nonmember seriously consider becoming a member because training and having fun will become very difficult at this point. When you do this, if you have enough money buy rune boots ( if you dont have them already) and a granite plate. For the people who have an extra 38k, buy a glory. If you still have 1.4mill, buy granite legs. If you have any more money, buy an obby cape.

To train i would suggest going and doing Fremmenick Trials and starting Fremminick Isles so you can train on the yaks. If you hate quests or dont have the requirements for the quests then train on the rock crabs. I will show you a comparison and you decide.

--ROCK CRABS -PROS: 1 defense, attack, and strength but 50 hp. These are really easy to kill and you never take damage even if you have one defense. If you are a skiller who doesnt need drops because you have 5+million then you can skip EVERY STEP and kill these. They are multi combat so late at night find an empty world and you can have 10 on you and you will mow them down.Insert non-formatted text here -CONS: Multicombat and high hp makes these things a cannon magnet. Every 10 minutes in a busy server someone with a cannon will come by and set one of these up. Also there are alot of 1 defense pures who will take all the kills with range. The crabs are far apart from each other so it might take a while to find a good respawn. (They respawn every 15 seconds). The crabs are also far away from a bank

--YAKS -PROS: No noob pures and not multicombat and a small area with 6 yaks that repawn every 5 seconds. There is a bank really close to you so you can bank whenever you want to.Insert non-formatted text here -CONS: There are two cons for yaks: they require a quest and the beginning of another quest. Also they have 22 combat. Rock crabs have 13 combat so if wont make a big difference.

I chose yaks but you do whichever you want.

Buy enough bones to get 43 prayer.

--- 60 attack, strength, and defense and 43 prayer to 65 attack and strength: Buy a dragon scimitar if you have done monkey madness. If you havent, dragon long will be okay. Train on either rock crabs or yaks until 65 attack and strength, and then go to the Warriors Guild.

---65 attack, 65 strength, 60 defense, and 43 prayer to 70 attack, 70 strength, 70 defense and 52 prayer:

OPTION A: This will take the longest but will get you a great shield and alot of exp. The reason i like it is because not many people use it. If you are in a world with 3+ ppl in the room with the cyclopes, hop worlds. Go to the Warriors guild. Buy mithril armour and fight it until you get 1000 tokens. Be sure to have a ring of wealth. Now get a full inventory of food/potions (whatever you want.) and wear your best armour and weapon. Now go up the stairs next to the bnk in the guild. When you get to the top, talk to the girl. She will crack a joke, and let you in. When you get in, start attacking the level 76 cyclopes. The area near the door is best, but the top right-hand corner is good as well. Choose the less crowded one. Pick up all the bones you get. Bury them. Every time you get a kill, RIGHT CLICK ON THE DROP and select take typedefender, Otherwise the defender may be missed. When you get a defender, leave the room and weild it. Stock up again, and repeat until you have rune. Now, continue this, building up your rune defender count and replenishing the tokens when you need to. Only thing that will change is that you should fight the 56s instead of 76s once you get a rune defender. They are weaker. Countinue this until 70 attack, get a whip(if you cant afford go make sum money!!) use it to get 70 defense, then get you skimmy/long to get 70 strength. By now you should have 52+ prayer.

--Go play minigames or boss fight for fun. Get barrows/whip and be proud. CONGRATS =]
