[edit] What it is

Black is a type of metal that can be found in the forms of weapons and armour around runescape. It is one of the basic types of armor in the game. The basic types of armor, in order from weakest to strongest, are Bronze, Iron, Steel, Black, Mithril, Adament, Rune, and Dragon. For each item, it gives equivalent stats to what White Knight's Armor gives (member only).

[edit] Obtaining Black

Black items can not be smithed which highers the price of black. There is no such thing as black ore and subsequently no such thing as black bars. Non-members can obtain black as monster drops from certain items or buying it from a store around runescape. They can also get it by trading with one another. Black armor is worth 9k-11k for a standard set which includes a kiteshield, platelegs, platebody, and full helm. This is the same price range that a set of full mitrhil lies in. A smart idea, in my opinion, would be getting black when your defense level is high enough. When you "outgrow" black and have a high enough defense level for mithril, you can sell your black and use the money to buy a set of mithril. If you are good at buying and selling, you can even make a profit by doing this. Another way in which to get black items is to get them from Treasure Trails.

[edit] Appearance

Black armor is armor that is almost completely black in color. At certain parts like the helm, the top of it can be blue. The armor is wore by the monster, the Black Knight. It is the lowest level armor that has a trimmed form. It games in trimmed (t) and trimmed (g. The trimmed (t) has armor trimmed with grey and is worth 100k-120k. Trimmed (g) is gold trim and is worth 240k-300k. People can not trim armor. They are prizes for treasure trails that members accomplish.
