These past weeks have brought an exiting competition to make the best RuneScape videos on YouTube. With Jagex’s release of the Machinima Contest, players and video-makers alike went on a rampage to make their videos the best. Today, I will be reviewing the final 6 movie contestants, chosen by the Jagex Staff themselves.

Excl’s Submission: Video Ideas

This new video from Excl shows off his comedy, as well as acting skills. In a genius fashion, he combines many types of common RuneScape videos into one. These combined videos, including a brief bank video, a “Bounty Hunter” video, a skill guide, and of course, a music video, are all elaboratly combined to make the video both entertaining and funny. I think this is a very worthy choice of being in the top 6 videos, as it is very well made, and touches on many aspects of RuneScape. Also, it is my personal favorite.

Kkcomic’s Submission: Gnarlie and the Gaming Factory

A surprisingly funny video, made by a fellow RuneScaper Kkcomics, pokes fun at Mark Gerhard, and uses his many member outfits to give the characters great feeling. This comedy features a boy named Gnarlie who makes a video and wins the trip to Jagex, only to be met by Mark Gerhard and the Oompa Loompas (otherwise known as Customer Support.) I think the video is very well made, it uses both amutuar and professional digital skills that make the video amusing, and easy to watch. This is definatly a good choice for the top 6.

Arrowgun99’s Submission: Mith Sword Fight

This action-packed video uses cunning digital skills to bring it to life. It shows very well how people will take anything they find, especially if it’s found lying on the ground. The digital skills used in this video are outstanding, as the producer makes his characters fling objects at each other that otherwise would be stationary. What made the movie so great, was that it interpreted RuneScape so well by showing one of these “fights” over objects on the ground, ending with no one getting the mith sword at all. Another great video, i’m not at all surprised it got where it is.

JinSr’s Submission: Siamsa

Probably one of the most amazing videos you will ever find on the internet, JinSr gets together with many friends and simintanuesly perform the “jig” emote all around RuneScape. The most amazing part of the movie is the many places they perform. In all, there were over 50 places in RuneScape where the group performed. I think the reason the video is so amazing is how JinSr was able to get everyone to click the emotes at the same time, and how he put the video together. The music and emotes line up perfectly, the backdrops change with the song, and even the order of people is amazing. After watching it, you will realize how much fun you can have in RuneScape, without having to be rich, or strong. This video is amazing in many ways, another one of my personal favorites.

Mommakitty2’s Submission:

This very random video is a compilation of many songs, dances, actions, and (of course) editing skills. Mommakitty finds a way to make everyone laugh, as the subjects touch on all sorts of aspects. From theme songs, to poems, to songs, to just plain funny, this video is an amazing performance. My favorite part is the middle, from seconds 40-1:20. This whole thing is many random songs, dances, and amusing lines. In my opinion, this is the funniest video out of all the contestants.

Bumbum007’s Submission: A RuneScape Original Song

Perhaps, the most amusing song you will ever listen to that is RuneScape related. Bumbum doesn’t have the greatest voice, but that doesn’t stop him from singing. After a while you will be able to comprehend his scratchy deep voice, and the song opens up to the poetic comedy. Besides listening to the lyrics, the main screen has funny things going on as well. With Mod Mmg’s various lines in the Jagex Studio, and the random sightings of Bumbum across RuneScape, this video is an experience to watch.
