New F2P Skill
Here is the original quote from JaGeX:
“We are working hard on a new skill, which will be available to free-to-play and members and which shows our continued commitment to the free game. We are also looking to improve some of the free quests as well as early graphics.” – Mod Mark Gerhard
As you can see! F2P is going to get a lot more attention in the coming months, but first. What is the new skill? Many people are convinced it is going to be sailing, and you can search for these videos on Youtube. However, there is no need for F2P players to have sailing. So what else can it be?
Hopefully, the skill will head directly to the top of the funest things to train and places, And new quests are made to help F2P level this new Skill! Let’s hope so – at least!

bull crap there hasn’t been the sailing skill introduced there are meere rumors on youtube and gameing sites but there have been some suggestions of new a skill thought to of been sailing if you can come up with some genuine truth then i’ll belive you! peace!!!

finally! i can be a pirate! i love pirates of the carribean.. but.. if they release sailing.. that means pirates clothes should be f2p now and not members maybe the priate clothes have bonuses

The skill hasnt been released (for you 3cbskiller99) it was on the highscores page for about 5 minutes and a few people were able to get shots of it. It may not even be the skill they are going to release
Lol thats a stupid skill for non-members since we would only sail to Cranador, Karamja, and POSSIBLY Tutorial Island. Training the skill would also sound quite boring if you think about it and there are already boats and teleports to get onto other islands so why the hell would we need sailing? However it is just a rumor, but get real guys, you think Jagex will pull off a stupid move like this? This skill would pretty much be useless for members too since they already have many ways of transportation.
Okay, people, let’s get one thing straight. You would love to sail around runescape. I would, it would be really immersive.
But looking at it, and I won’t bother explaining why, it has NO potential to be a skill. None at all. Unless of course jagex comes up with a crazy idea, but even then, it would be quite stupid to have it as a skill. A mini game? Sure. A travel system? Sure, it already is. Hell, if it was a mini game you could even maintain and fix the boat before you go around sailing. Come to think of it, it has an awful load of potential to be a mini-game. Lots of ideas come to my mind right now. And I don’t want to see that potential wasted on a probably crappy skill.
From my POV, even if you are incredibly creative, you can’t make a fun skill out of sailing.
That said, it is probably something else, and on that field, there are infiite possibilities.
It can’t be Firemaking, or Crafting
you guys never thought that they could turn a members skill into a f2p skill and if there was a new skill i would make it pvp xp
LOL? Why is everyone so convinced that Sailing would be a new skill? Going on a boat ride is boring enough. Christ. Sailing= Boring as hell.
i have 1 idea, way if it was speed? maybe it could be trained with all kinds of other skills if u for ex wc, u could train speed while u wc and in that way fight and craft faster, it could have speed capes gloves and so on and mybe some super fast wep. the skill could interact with other skill in the way that you can use xp split like if u range and train def at the same time and then you can just train range if u wana. thae same with ex fishing and speed you gain 50% xp at both and you will mine faster fish and cook faster….. it would be an amazing skill and because it will interact with all other skills it should be f2p just as the skill jagex is working on / just wonder if it realy is speed , u cant know but still a cool skill. it could make u run and walk faster and all the other skills or just make u fight faster/ up 2 jagex / soz 4 bad spel i dont use eng so much.
