Little-known infrastructure and area updates are slowly working together to improve RuneScape.

In-Game, the new and improved Zanaris is quietly being implemented soon to be coupled with a brand new fairy quest.

The new GUI update is but a small portion of a large series of updates that began with the rest feature and have gradually continued through the Clan interaction features, The Hunt for the Red Raktuber, Mobilizing Armies and many, many new ways to purchase RS membership.

Now considering all of this in-game work, most players would assume that behind-the-scenes RuneScape was suffering.  Not so! Jagex recently purchased and installed all-new, much faster servers for RuneScape and Funorb. Although this is only for the game itself, they are also planning to upgrade their website’s servers for a smoother, quicker browsing experience. They also upgraded the entire game engine, overhauling and removing dozens of glitches that they had found hidden behind stacks of ancient code. In the space of less than 2 hours, over 100,000 players were online testing Jagex’s new servers and the engine upgrades. Notably, there were very few glitches, apart from the ‘two things at once’ actions that ocurred briefly.

Every day, Jagex staff work diligently to keep RuneScape running smoothly and securely; updating the GE,processing complaints and managing the forums whilst creating all-new game features!

Most of all,  everyone remembers the switch to HD…
