Combat, Maps, Health! Spam?
JaGeX did supply us with a release this week after all. Since it was a bank Holiday this Monday in England.
First up, their effort to make F2P feel less bad! By removing all members options from the F2P world. For example, agility shortcut options, pickpocket etc.
Now for the larger, nice updates!![]()
A “spam” filter has been put in place to stop the game spamming us with repeat messages. For instance, if you are mining, it will not repeat ‘you swing your pick at the rock’ every time you click it. This may be helpful if you are concentration on Clan Chat, or chatting while skilling, but doesn’t seem entirely helpful otherwise. To turn this filter off (or on) simply right click the game button in the row along the bottom, and select ‘Filter’ As seen in the image.
Underground maps have been released. Allowing us – when in the sewers of Varrock, or the dungeons of Karamja to see what lies ahead and prepare/find another way around. The list at the bottom of the map scroll to list all the dungeons and underground areas around Runescape, which then gives a reasonably detailed view of the area. Along with the usual map references of banks, and such.![]()
Accompanying the combat looks update next, the leprechauns have also been re-worked and made so that they remain closer to their corresponding gardening patches! Go gardening!
Finally, combat lovers will potentially fall in love with the graphical improvement i am about to show you. The ancient splash attacks and health bars have been re-worked, so that a blocked attack, causing 0 will show as a blue shield. And a hit is a red spiky strike. Just look for yourself!
I like this! It makes the system much easier to monitor both your health and theirs and predict how close you/they are from death due to its increased size. Also for members fighting monsters with greater than 200 hit points, the Health bar will be extended…EVEN MORE!!! so you can watch even more closely as to how you are doing so you can either wait for the rare drop or get outta there if their hit points are too high!
All in all, considering its not a huge release like a quest, skill or minigame: I am willing to give this release a generous
Nice updates
It certainly will help adventurers traversing the security stronghold
Thanks for posting, I really liked reading your latest post. I think you should post more often, you evidently have natural ability for blogging!
I hope so too!
Sometimes its the problem with finding something to blog
NICE UPDATES! LOVE THEM!
Just I think RS is competing with WOW now, but RS should think about getting better graphics (that everyones computer will be able to play with)!
I think the new health bars look oldie, but I still like them!
HAHA, nice work JAGEX (ahem)

I don’t know about you but I don’t like change, I prefer the old HP design.
