Black Knight’s Fortress
The Black Knights are a group of mostly Level 33 knights. They fight the White Knights of Falador. Sir Amik Varze, of the White Knights, hears that they are making a secret weapon, and he asks you to investigate…
Materials:
- 1 Iron Chainbody. You can buy this from other players, make it yourself, or buy it from the Grand Exchange in Varrock. It should not cost you more than 300 gold.
- 1 Bronze Medium Helm. Again, you can buy this or make it. This should not cost more than 30 gold.
- 1 Regular Cabbage. Pick this from any cabbage field across the great land of Runescape. Do NOT pick it from the cabbage field at Draynor Manor.
Requirements:
- 12 Quest Points
Tips:
- Be unafraid of Level 33 Black Knights. You don’t need to kill them, but they shouldn’t be able to kill you either.
Procedures:
To start, talk to Sir Amik Varze. He can be found on the 3rd floor of the White Knights Castle in Falador. The Castle is located South of Falador Square. It is circled here in red.

To get to him, go to the big circular room west of the open square of the White Knight’s Castle. Then climb up two flights of stairs. His location is marked here in red.

He tells you about the war between the White Knights and the Black Knights. He eventually hires you to go spy on the Black Knights and find out what their secret weapon is. Get all of your materials, and as much food as you think you will need. Now go to the Black Knight’s Fortress. It is on the border of the Wilderness just North of Ice Mountain. It is circled here in green. Follow the path in red to reach the correct door. There should be three Level 20 Fortress Guards here.

Put on the Iron Chainbody and Bronze Medium Helm. You can now go through the side door you are at, and change into your regular armour once you are inside. There is a secret door in front of you, outlined here in red.

When you move the mouse over it, it should say “Push Wall.” Click the secret door and you are inside a room with one ladder. Climb up this ladder, then you are inside another room, this one with one ladder going up and one going down. Climb up the ladder going up. You are now on the roof of the fortress, and your minimap should look like this:

Climb down the only ladder up here that you didn’t just climb up. Do not go into the tower up here with the Black Knight. There are two Black Knights to greet you, but just go into the door to the East. Climb up the ladder in this room, then down the ladder just to the East. You should now be in a room with a red rug and a Chaos Altar. There are no Black Knights in this room. If you are not in a room that like this, then retrace your steps back to the roof and follow these directions again.

Now go out the door to the of the Chaos Altar. Just run past the Black Knights here and go the the ladder right in front of you. You are now back in an L-shaped room on the first floor. There is a grill on the wall, outlined here.

Click on it. You will hear a conversation in which you learn that they are making an invisibility potion and it will be ruined by a normal cabbage. Now retrace your steps or go through these directions backward, and go back to the very first room inside the Black Knight’s Fortress you set foot in. There should be a few Fortress Guards again. Go through the door to the east. A Fortress Guard warns you against it, but ignore him and go through anyway. A Black Knight will attack you, but just climb up the only ladder in this room, near the door you came through.
You are now in a little passageway. Follow it around the corner, and it seems to be a dead end. It isn’t, however, there is another hidden door at the end of it. Open this door, and you will be in a room with a few shelves and a hole in the middle of the floor. Use the cabbage with the hole. Be careful to right-click the cabbage and use it with the hole. DO NOT eat it.
Rewards: Congratulations, you ruined their invincibility potion. Now go back and talk to Sir Amik Varze to get your reward of 2500 gold and 3 Quest Points.
