Mini-Update?

Posted by James in Runescape News

Hey There!

So - I was checking through the GE Database on the Official Runescape Website…When I noticed that they have removed the “7 Days” Button.
Instead, there is now “30 Days” “90 Days” & “180 Days”

Naturally this is very helpful! Here is a good example when 180 days may become helpful (Link)

Have Fun with this new Feature! :)

Goblin Diplomacy

Posted by James in Runescape Quests

Introduction: They are arguing about the color of their Goblin armor, but what one is better, red or green armor? This is where you come in.

Requirements:
None.
Items Needed: 3 Brown Goblin mails, 2 Woad leaves or 35 GP, 3 Redberries and 2 Onions.
Length: Medium
Difficulty: Moderate
Reward: 200 Crafting XP, 1 Gold Bar.

Starting Point
You can start the quest by speaking a hostile General Bentnoze or General Wartface in a large building in the Goblin Village.
The goblin village is located to the West of Ice Mountain.

Talking to the Goblins

Well, those silly goblins are at it again! But this time, there fighting against each other! You must speak to General Wartface or General Bentnoze to find out what’s wrong. They will tell you that they are changing their armor colors, but are arguing whether they should have red or green.
You will suggest that they try a different color.
After you have spoken to them fully, you should be sent on a quest to retrieve an Orange Goblin Mail for them.
Don’t know what to do to start the quest? Start talking to General Bentnoze (the red goblin) and follow this conversation to start the quest:

Getting the Goblin Mails.

Now that you have started the quest, the quickest way to finish the quest is to get all the Goblin Mails at once, and then head back to the generals with their armor.
But first, you need to get the brown Goblin Mail to color. You can obtain these in the Grand Exchange, from killing goblins (obviously), or from crates in the Goblin Village.

The Orange Goblin Mail.

Well, to get an Orange Goblin Mail, your going to need orange dye, and to get orange dye, your going to need to mix red and yellow dye. So firstly, getting the yellow dye.

You will need 5 GP, plus 2 onions to make to get Aggie of Draynor to make you the yellow dye.
So head over from Aggies down to the Onion patch behind Fred the Farmers house. Here is picture to show you where to go.

Get Aggie to make you the dye by giving her the equipment. Your half way towards making the orange dye.

Now getting the red dye will require a trip to Varrock if you do not already have some red berries. Now, this picture indicates where in Varrock the redberry bushes are..

Remember, you need to pick 3 red berries.

Now head back to Aggie and make the red dye. To make an orange dye, use the red dye on the yellow dye, or visa versa.

Then, once that is done, use it on the Goblin Mail. Tada! One Orange Goblin Mail!
The Blue Goblin Mail.
Alright. To make a Blue Goblin Mail, your going to need to get some nice Woad Leaves for that dye.

So, how do you get a Woad Leaf? On the map below, the area circled white is the place that you can buy Woad Leaves at.

You will need to speak ‘Wyson the gardener’ and buy 2 Woad leaves. Tell him you are willing to pay 20 GP for a Woad Leaf, he will tell you your a generous person and will give you 2.

Now head back to Aggie ask her to make you a Blue

Dye in exchange for 2 Woad leaves and 5 GP.

Once you have the dye, use it on a Goblin Mail. You should now have an Orange Goblin Mail and a Blue Goblin Mail.

The Resolution.
Now you have 3 Goblin Mails, a brown one, an orange one and a blue one. Go back up to the Goblin Village. To one of the generals you have Orange armor, and Grubfoot, their assistant, will try on the armor.

The generals will explain that they do not like the Orange armor, it clashes with their skin tone and need some Blue armor. Talk to one of the generals again and tell them you have some Blue armor.
Again, Grubfoot will try on the new armor. This time, they explain that Goblins should wear more earthly colors, like brown!

Once again, talk to one of the generals and say you have some Brown armor.
Grubfoot will, for the last time, go into the change room and try on the new armor. This time however, they like the new armor.

You have sorted out their disagreements and have completed the quest. Congratulations!

Strapped For Cash?

Posted by James in Runescape Tips

Hey Members!

Its been a while.

Today, i thought I’d give you a little tip or so on how to make some money!

After a massive drop in prices, Yew logs are on course for explosion. As you can see from the graph below – they started of pretty high priced, which suddenly dropped causing many choppers to stop selling. Naturally, due to the lack then of yew logs on the the market  this is causing a rise. Not just a rise. A big one! As you can see, the mid price is already 20gp more than it was 16 days ago.image

So, if you have a few yews stored up. Or you can cut them, now is the time. This could make you roughly 50k per 100 Logs! (500k for 1,000 yews)

That, is VERY good. Grab your axes and get cutting. for that quick cash! Get in there quick thought – Some people have a large amount of yews stored, if they all sell soon – the price is going to drop again.

Some other items are also going up, if one goes up such as this, i shall let you know! But had to let you know about this since Woodcutting is my thing!

More Tips soon!

Vampire Slayer

Posted by James in Runescape Quests

Introduction:
For some time now, Draynor Village has been terrorized by a vampire who lives in the mansion to the north. Morgan needs your help to slay the vampire, and possibly save the entire village.

Difficulty Rating
: Easy-Medium
Length: Short
Requirements: Ability to defeat Count Draynor (level 34)
Location: Morgan’s house in Draynor Village (pictures below)
Materials:

  • Hammer,
  • Garlic (can be obtained during quest),
  • 2 coins, or a beer
  • Stake (only obtained during quest)

Reward: 3 quest points, 4825 attack Exp

The Guide:

Start the quest by speaking to Morgan in his house in Draynor Village. He says there is a vampire problem in his village and would like you to talk to Dr. Harlow who is at the Blue Moon Inn. Before you go, if you don’t have already, you can obtain garlic in the cupboard on the second floor of Morgan’s house.

(Morgan's house is marked with the red "X")
Now go to Varrock, and find the Blue Moon Inn. It is to the right of the sword shop, and south of the general store. There, talk to Dr. Harlow about the problem. Apparently, he is very drunk, and he wont help you unless you buy him a beer. Buy a beer from the bartender, and talk to him again.
He will say that he once used to be a vampire slayer, and to defeat one, you need garlic to weaken him, and you need a hammer and stake to finish him off. He will conclude the conversation by giving you the stake.
(You now should have the stake, the garlic, and if you don’t have the hammer, buy it from a general store, from players, or the Grand Exchange.)

Now go to the bank, and get ready for battle (don’t forget the hammer, stake, and garlic!). Go north from Draynor Village till you reach a mansion in a dark, fenced area. Be careful, some trees and roots can attack you, so best follow the road.

Enter the door (you cant leave through this door, you will have to leave via the back door), and walk around to the right till you see some stairs going down (shown as the blue "X" above). Go downstairs, and open the coffin. Count Draynor will appear, and attack you.

Defeating the vampire:

If you are a high level, you should have no problem with the vampire, as he is an easy kill. If you are a low level, it may be slightly harder. It is important to use the garlic on him, because if you don’t, he will heal 1hp for every "0" you hit on him.

If you are an extremely low level, you might want to safe him by using magic or range, and hiding behind the coffin, since he can hit up to a "4", and extremely quickly. It you do not kill him quick enough, he will disappear, and you will have to battle him all over again.

Tip: silver weapons such as SilverLight or silver sickles (m) deal very high on him, since he is a Vampyre (please see the quest, Darkness of Hallowvale).

When his bar turns completely red, you will automatically stab him with the stake. Once he is dead, you have officially completed the quest.

QUEST COMPLETE!

Rewards: 3 quest points + 4,825 attack Exp
